Other World

This picture was a beast to color. A HELLISH BEAST. It took up the whole piece of paper, it took multiple days, and you see how a good portion of it is shades of grey? I only have three grey markers - cool greys 10%, 40%, and 90%. YARG.

Anyway, this is a scene from chapter nine of my fanfic, Open Up. Actually, it's less a scene and more a "I'm gonna BS a scene so I can draw Riku! " I mean, the only reference I bothered using was for Oblivion, which is why The World That Never Existed background is really . . . well, wrong. But yeah.

Rightio, some differences from the sketch and the inked version would be the random building in the background and the writing on the steps. The writing on the steps is katakana for the Latin words mutatio, cor, lumens, nemo, and taceo (from the bottom up). The katakana on the sign says "kingdom," as in Kingdom Hearts. The two Keyblades are Oblivion and Fortunae Filius (my original Keyblade especially for the fic). The tv screen in the upper left was made static-y with the help of Paint Shop Pro and is an image of Riku being all "take my hand Sora."

Drawn on printer paper with a BiC mechanical pencil, inked with Microns and Milleniums, colored with Copics and Prisma Colors, and touched up with Paint Shop Pro 7.
